Apple consistently listens to its customers and improves its features and specs, so it’s no surprise that after the release of iOS 16.2, the brand already has new iOS 16.3 features.
The first iOS 16.3 beta is available to the registered developers, making it one of the most anticipated iOS updates in the iOS 16 lineup.
Since the release of iOS 16 in September, Apple has introduced a range of new features to their iPhones and iPads. From bug fixes to new feature releases, successive iOS 16 updates have brought a range of new additions.
With iOS 16.2 already publicly released, it’s not surprising that the first iOS 16.3 beta is already available to Apple-registered beta test developers.
What are the new features of iOS 16.3?
With the first beta of iOS 16.3 only available to the developers, there isn’t much information about the diversity of new features available in the update.
However, two major feature updates are expected with the launch of iOS 16.3.
New startup screen
Since this is a feature that is still in its infancy, there isn’t much information on this particular feature yet.
However, reports suggest that this new splash screen will demonstrate a Music Handoff between an iPhone and a HomePod. This isn’t the first time this feature has been included in an iOS update, but it will be available on the introduction screen, which is the first of its kind.
Support for Apple ID security keys
The next and possibly the most anticipated feature update Apple users can expect with iOS 16.3 is the support for the FIDO certified security keys. This is expected to provide Apple users with an extra layer of security, something that the users can easily manage without any hassle.
Activating this feature or security key is a one-time process that every iPhone or iOS user must do.
Once activated, every time you sign in to your Apple ID from any device, you’ll need to integrate the physical security key for an extra layer of security.
With so much going on with Apple’s iOS updates, it’s not surprising that there aren’t many rumors or inputs available yet regarding iOS 16.3’s new features, aside from the ones we’ve mentioned here.
We will continue to update this article with more information as new features are released or reported, so stay tuned to this space.
