How to Use Visual Search on iOS 16?

With iOS 16 came some great features. Apple officially released iOS 16 to the public on December 12e September 2022 and it has remained a hot topic until now mainly due to its features and lock screen customization. Live text, battery percentage, focus mode, iMessages, etc. were some of the most talked about features among the users. Visual search is one of its features.

Visual Search was first introduced with the iOS 15 software update, it was basically a type of search that can be done online for a particular subject of the photo. With iOS 16 software, the visual lookup has been updated, giving it more features than before. This feature not only works with the Photos app but also with Safari and the Messages app. Visual Lookup can also be used as a background removal tool along with saving and sharing the selected object without any background in it.

How to Use Visual Search on iOS 16?

  1. Go to the Photos app on your iPhone.
  2. Select a photo of your choice.
  3. Below the photo is a blue i with a circle around it. If the photo supports Visual Look Up, this symbol will have small sparkles in the top left corner.
  4. Click on that symbol.
  5. Tap the little white symbol in the image or the icon at the top of the menu below next to the words “Look Up” to look up the subject of the photo.
  6. You have arrived at the Visual Look Up page! Browse “Similar Web Images” for more information, or click things under “Siri Knowledge” for brief summaries of the topic.

Copy and paste images with Visual look up:

  1. Go to the Photos app on your iPhone.
  2. Choose the image of your choice.
  3. Press and hold the object of that image.
  4. You will be given an option to copy or share the topic.
  5. To save the object without a background, click share. And then choose save image
  6. You can even share it with another person through social media apps by clicking the share option.

The visual lookup function works on the devices running on A12 Bionic chip and above.
