How to Send Photos to Hidden on iOS 16

Clicking photos has become a part of our daily lives. Wherever we go, we click on photos to save them as memory on our iPhone. The photos we take describe our entire personality, and it’s not wrong to hide photos from people. There may be photos that you don’t want others to see and that’s completely understandable. It’s for our privacy. Some people even hide pictures so their parents don’t find out. Many more reasons to do so. So instead of deleting it, just move it to a folder where no one can find out.

Apple has previously introduced a new folder called hidden album. And we can take advantage of that. With iOS 16, Apple went one step further with a hidden album feature. Apple has introduced a new feature that locks the hidden album and can only be unlocked with your face ID.

In today’s article, let’s walk through the steps to send photos to a hidden album and lock it with a face ID.

Before you hide the photos from the library, you must first enable the hidden album photos folder. This is necessary for those who are using it for the first time as you will need to open the hidden folder and confirm if the photos you have hidden in this folder are visible.

You can disable hidden albums through settings apps. Even if you disable the hidden folder, the photos you want to hide will still be stored in this folder.

  1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Go to photos.
  3. Enable the “show hidden album” option.
  4. Go to the Photos app on your iPhone.
  5. Scroll down to the utilities section.
  6. Make sure the hidden album folder is visible.
