How to Send a Voice Memo iOS 16

If you don’t want to send the recorded voice directly to a person, you can record it in the voice memo app on your iPhone first so that if you need to make changes, you can do it accordingly. After recording the message, you can send it to the person you want by following the steps below.

  1. Go to the Voice Memo app on your iPhone.
  2. Pick a recording of your choice to share.
  3. Select the icon with the 3 dots.
  4. Tap the share option.
  5. Click on the messaging app or any other application you want to share your recording with.
  6. Select the person you want to send your voice memo to.
  7. Hit submit at the end of the process.

To send voice messages on iMessages:

You can send voice memos by recording directly from the application, such as iMessages. This method does not require you to record the message before sending it, you can directly open the conversation and start recording your message and send it immediately.

  1. Launch Messages on your iPhone.
  2. Open an existing iMessage conversation or add a recipient and start a new one.
  3. Now from the bar below the text field, press the voice note.
  4. Some users may need an extra step: Tap the App Store icon next to the text area.
  5. You can start the voice recording by: Tap and hold the microphone icon: Start speaking and the message will be sent when you release.
  6. To stop the voice recording, press the microphone icon and then the stop icon. You can delete or send the recording from this screen (up arrow on the blue circle).

If you’re still on iOS 15, you can access the Voice Notes icon from the same location where the new Dictation icon appears in iOS 16.
