How to Create a Photo Sticker on iOS 16?

IOS 16 is on the market and there is still so much to discover in its features. We already know all the regular functions and know how to use them according to our needs, but some functions went unnoticed because they were small. But let me clear the air by saying that while there are some minor features, they have just as much impact on making our experience of using the iPhone device as smooth and easy as the main ones. One of their minor features that was left out in the feature count was how to turn an image into a sticker on iOS 16.

Apple hasn’t given us the exact function to turn our images into stickers, but we can make it possible by following a fairly simple method to do it. We can do this by using the Visual Lookup feature that enables photo cutouts. Thanks to the visual search function, you can now extract the subject from any image and remove the background completely. But what can you do after removing the subject from the image? You can just use it as a sticker and share them with your friends and family or in a group as you wish.

How to Create a Photo Sticker on iOS 16?

The visual search feature on iOS 16 makes it easy to turn a photo into a sticker. There are 2 ways to do this either you do it manually using a files app preinstalled on your device or you can install a drop sticker; a third party application to turn your photos into stickers.

Method 1: Using File App

  1. Open the Photos app on your iPhone.
  2. Choose your desired image.
  3. Long press on the subject of the image.
  4. Click the share icon.
  5. Select the Save to Files option.
  6. Tap the Save option after selecting the location where you want to save the sticker.
  7. Open the Files app and locate the photos you just saved.
  8. Long press the photo until you see the popup.
  9. Click Quick Actions.
  10. Tap Remove background.

Please note that the images converted to stickers will be shared as an image in other applications. And you are allowed to share it as a sticker on iMessage.

Method 2: Using Drop Sticker

  1. Install a drop sticker on your iPhone.
  2. Launch the application and click on the Continue option.
  3. Now open the photo application.
  4. Choose the photo you want to convert into the sticker.
  5. Long-press the subject until it’s selected, then drag it across the screen to crop and separate it from the background.
  6. Do not release the selected cutout and open the Drop sticker app with another finger.
  7. Drop your selected image into the pop-up on the screen.
  8. This will automatically create a sticker of the topic you selected.
  9. You can even customize the sticker by adding text, border or colors to your liking by simply clicking on the sticker.

Until next time, with another topic. Until then, Toodles.
