How do you change the wallpaper on iOS 16?

It’s not just about customizing wallpapers, it’s about adding widgets to your lock screen and your home screen. How to change the background iOS 16?

You can follow the steps below if you want to choose your wallpaper from the photos app on your iPhone to create your own home screen wallpaper.

  1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Click Background.
  3. Click the Customize button on the right side of the home screen window.
  4. Select a photo from your Photos Library or Albums by clicking the Photos button.
  5. Click the Photos icon in the lower left corner.
  6. Click the All tab and select the image you want to use as the background for your home.
  7. You can even search for specific photos or go to Albums and choose one from a collection, such as Favorites.
  8. Simply slide your finger in and out to resize the image and move it with your fingers to resize and move.
  9. Swipe left on the screen to apply a filter to your background, such as Black & White, Duotone, or Color Wash.
  10. To enable background effects such as Perspective Zoom and Depth effect, use the Ellipsis icon (3-point) at the bottom left.
  11. After you are done creating your own home screen background, click Done.
  12. To change the settings, tap the Done option again.

Change your home screen wallpaper right from the lock screen

When you install a new lock screen or change an existing one, you may want to apply a different wallpaper to your iOS 16 home screen. If you want to change your home screen wallpaper or get a new one, you can do it while also changing the lock screen wallpaper. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode must be used to unlock your iPhone. NOTE: Don’t swipe up on the home screen just yet as you will need to customize the wallpaper.
  2. Long press (tap and hold) on the lock screen.
  3. Tap the Add button to add a new lock screen and select a wallpaper for it.
  4. You can also click Customize to make changes to your current lock screen.
  5. Then press the Done button.
  6. Select Customize home screen to set a different home screen than your lock screen.
  7. You can choose from original, color, gradient and photo options to your liking.
  8. Tap the option color to get different colors to choose from.
  9. Tap on the options gradient to get different gradient colors to choose from.
  10. Click the Done option to set your wallpaper.
  11. Click your screen again to get your home screen and lock screen wallpaper.

Apply background blur to iOS 16 home screen

  1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Click Background.
  3. From the Home screen window, select Customize.
  4. To add blur to your current home screen, tap the Blur button on the far right.
  5. You can also see a preview of the update above.
  6. Click Done to apply.
  7. Likewise, while adding new wallpapers, you can enable or disable blurring.
  8. NOTE: Blur is added automatically when you create a new lock screen and choose Set as wallpaper pair option. To remove the blur from the home screen background, select Customize Home Screen and then press the Blur option.
