Remember the good old days when smartphones weren’t even a thing; we used those old Nokia and BlackBerry phones. Those phones were definitely a thing. I would still prefer that one if given a choice. We got the full function of the old phones in our new smartphones. However, one thing can never beat the iPhone, the alarm sound that would go off even if the phone was off. Yes, you heard it right; the old Nokia phone would sound an alarm even if the phone was off. You can go to bed worry-free whether or not the alarm goes off in the morning when the phone rings. This feature may still be available for some Android devices, but the iPhone or other Apple product does not have this feature.
Maybe you also have other concerns that the alarm would still go off if your iPhone was on silent mode or if it was in do not disturb mode? Because if not, chances are you won’t wake up on time and miss your work. In this article, we are going to talk about the same, read on to know if your iPhone alarm actually goes off in Do Not Disturb mode.
What is Do Not Disturb (DND)?
iPhone has given some of the great features including DND. Do Not Disturb is a feature that turns off all notifications, mutes calls and message sounds, etc. This feature was created so that you can avoid all distractions and focus on your work. If it depends on how much phone use you have, if your phone addiction is getting in the way of your work then DND mode is for you. Personally, I would prefer NST mode over silent mode.
Does my alarm go off on iPhone Do Not Disturb?
When you turn on Do Not Disturb, you can choose which notifications, alerts, or phone calls you don’t want to receive. However, many iPhone users worry about their alarm going off when Do Not Disturb mode is turned on. Fortunately, your alarms will go off when your iPhone is set to Do Not Disturb, as long as you’ve set the alarm with the correct ringtone and time. Your iPhone alarms should always go off, even if you’re in Do Not Disturb or Silent mode.
I recommend that you don’t worry and sleep peacefully at night once you set your alarm as it will continue to go off even when Do Not Disturb mode is turned on. However, you need to make sure that your iPhone is charged. Because if the charging gets low and your iPhone shuts down, there’s no chance your alarm will go off. Even if for some other reason your iPhone turns off, the alarm will not go off. So make sure to check your iPhone before setting an alarm.
